I Will Reduce Unemployment In Ibeju-Lekki - Jaja
The Chairman Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area who doubles as the Chairman Conference 57 at the Centre of Excellence, has reaffirmed his determination to reduce the rate of unemployment in the Council.
The Chairman gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen during a public function in his Council Area, the renowned Engineer turned Council Executive Hon. (Engr.) Sesan Olowa, hinted that a number of measures have been put in place to reduce the level of employment in the Local Government.
Ibeju-Lekki number one man stated that vocational training programs were organized in order to empower the youth and to train them on numerous programs which would position them for future success, while other empowerment programs were designed as a short term approach to create a brighter and rewarding future for the youth.
Hon. Olowa pointed out that he had initiated a long term investment approach, known as Ibeju-Lekki Industrial Estate, saying it would be an establishment of large concentration of industries to be cited in the Local Government which would engage about 60 percent of the work force from the teeming unemployed youth in the Local Government.
The Council Chairman expressed dismay with the high level of unemployment among youth, pointing out that holistic approach would be made to address the situation while critical stakeholders in the Local Government would be consulted to chart a way forward towards ensuring that youth were positioned on the vantage level of economic prosperity.
In his message of hope to youth in the Local Government, the Chairman reinstated the commitment of his administration towards ensuring that the interest of the youth would be adequately taken into consideration.
